Ok I am away from home and I can not use the method of using itunes to fix and stuck app installing on the phone. How can I get rid of it? It is draining my battery. Its been doing it for a couple hours now. I have tried airplane mode, restart, soft reset, airplane mode with restart, airplane mode with soft reset.. everything I can not get it to stop.
1. Open the app and force quit by holding the home button until the app exits.
2. Press and hold the icon until the app wiggles. Press the x to delete.
Did you reset like this... press the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

I've tried the pause thing it won't do it for some reason. I tried opening itunes and downloading it again but it won't do it. It just says it is installed.
What about #2 in my post above? If that doesn't work, I think you'll need to wait until you can connect with iTunes or visit Apple if there's a store nearby.
Oh like I said above I can go into itunes but it says that app that is installed so I can install it again. The thing is I don't leave work until 5 more hours by then my phone will be dead. I use my phone all day so if I dies I am up the creek without a paddle.
When I said connect with iTunes, I meant iTunes on your desktop. You still didn't comment on #2 above... pressing the icon until it wiggles and deleting it. I don't know if this will work on an app that isn't fully installed but you should try.
Ok....I've seen this happen before with my friends who tried to update an app that needed itunes or wifi....The thing that worked the best is to go into the settings and reset the network settings. Just network settings. It will reboot the phone and just don't try to update that app until you get to itunes or find a wifi connection.
As budman mentioned, can you get wifi access to get the install going again? In any case, if you have good data access via wifi, 3g or E and it still won't install, I think you're out of luck until you can get home and connect to iTunes on your desktop. In the meantime, you can forward your cell number to a desktop number for the balance of the day.
