Iphone Left In Hot Car!! :/

I am worried I left my iphone in my hot car on the dashboard! I am worried because can't direct sunlight ruin the phone if it gets to hot? I am in detention right now and my teacher won't let me go get it!! I emailed my dad so he can call the school and tell them I need to get it, but I am not sure if he will read it in time! What is the worse that could happen to my iphone? :/

P.S it's 83 degrees and I am pretty sure its in direct sunlight.

Hi,

This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2101 provides more information about Keeping the iPhone 3G within acceptable operating temperatures.

+"Store iPhone 3G in a place where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave iPhone 3G in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range."+ from the article linked above.

Pretty much anything would be fine in the car but not in direct sunlight.

If you have or had a GPS and don't even bother getting it in the house even during Summer time, it'll be just like the cellphone. It wouldn't effect the LCD as far as the heat goes, but it does work wonderful during the Winter time like pretty slow moving screen.

The worst thing you can realize, like everyone else said, is the $500+ iPhone stolen.
