Question

Retrieve / extract Wifi password already entered

I have a password already entered and saved for one of my networks. I want to be able to see the password. How will I be able to do it?

I don't mean to see it as in "see while typing" . I mean retrieve the password already saved in there...

Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access

It should be listed as an "Airport Network Password". Double-Click >on the entry. Click on the "Show Password" check box.

My Bad. I didn't notice I had moved from a Mac OS X Leopard forum to the iPod Touch forum. My appologies for posting bad information.

Open the network settings on your router and look there. Passwords can be displayed in plain text depending on the make of the router you own.

I am only concerned with how can get the ipod to show "saved password" already in there...it must save it somewhere since it automatically connects each time im near the network..unless ofcourse i hit the "forget this network" in which case, Id have to re-enter the password..

You cannot retrieve the password in the iPod touch, the capability simply does not exist to view a network password saved to it. You'll have to go back to your router to retrieve the password.

You are not going to see the password in plain text, ever. The reason is simple, security. It works this way with all computers and operating systems.

No that we have that out of the way, if this is your network, you can open the router controls and make the password anything you want. If you are trying to hijack or hack someone's network, I suggest you don't.
