iPod Nano 4th Gen and KCA-420i Alpine

Hey guys,

Will I be able to use my 4th Gen iPod Nano with the KCA-420i in Car Alpine Stereo Adapter?

My 3rg Gen seems to work fine and also charges.

Thanks it's appreciated.

I haven't seen a reply to this question, but I have a related question, so thought I'd post it here. I have an Alpine CDE-W203E car stereo. It works fine with my iphone, but with a 4th gen ipod nano, it says no device detected. The Alpine website, and the manual that comes with the stereo, says its compatible with ipod nano 1st-3rd gen. Apple, is there any way to get it to work with a 4th gen? What has changed in the cable/pin configuration?

thanks,
Alex

There are a couple of options.

Look for a product called the Scosche passPORT which retails for about USD25 and is available from the Apple store.

Alpine have also released an adaptor which just attaches to the KCA-420i which does the same thing. The model is KCX-422TR and retails for around USD50 (from Crutchfield http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500KCX422T/Alpine-KCX-422TR.html?tp=120).

Your mileage may vary. Good luck in your quest.
