iphone keeps asking for itunes password

Recently, my iphone began asking for itunes password repeatedly. At first this happened only when I was in the app store (though not actually downloading anything). Now it happens at random times when I am using the phone. I have tried restart and soft reset. Anyone have any ideas?

This is a really frustrating issue. Mine has been doing this for a month. I have an iPhone 3G, and it has been constantly asking me for my iTunes password. Everytime I wake the phone, while surfing on Safari, while using apps, even during a phone call. How frustrating. I have tried restoring the phone and it still does it. I have no idea how to stop it but it is really irritating! Once I enter the password, the window goes away, only to re-ask it some random time later. I don't think this is a "security" issue, it wouldn't ask for your Itunes password during internet surfing or during the middle of an app use. I have seen others post a thread on this, both with Mac OS and Windows.

this happens to me when i do updates from the device itself... and don't give it a chance to update all the applications...

for example i might open app store and see there are 12 updates... ill tell it to updates and then it goes back to the home screen and starts updating 1 of the 12 updates.... then i might start using another app ... the phone then pauses the updates of the other apps... then when its idle again it will start updating one of the 11 remaining... if the time has been too long your login to the app store times out so it re-prompts you.

the easy fix is to click on Applications in itunes on your computer click on the updates at the bottom them click get all free updates... sync them over to your phone and presto no more password requests.

hope it helps!

OK, so here is how I got the messages to stop for me. One thing I noticed is that at some point I had another apple login that I used to buy an app. So I had 2 different apple IDs covering the purchased apps on my iphone. After I removed all the apps of either one and only had one of the login IDs covering the apps on the iphone, it so far has not been asking me for my password. I do not know if this really has anything to do with the problem, but after doing this, it resolved...

This was bugging me the same way for weeks, and I kept being told that there was an unfinished download someplace, but couldn't find it for the life of me! Or to Restore. Finally, I realized there was an iTunes download queue buried in a menu, and a tv show that hadn't finished downloading in there. This was the culprit. I wish there was a notification on the home screen for things like this, just like when the App store has an update, or email has a message! I don't download shows from iTunes much on this device, so wasn't used to looking here, either.

I was getting frustrated with iPhone asking me for my iTunes password all the time for like 2 weeks! and I noticed it started happening after I downloaded a few apps while I was at work. Well, it was because there was an app that I found in "paused" status on my "iphone desktop" I guess since I asked for it to download when I was not at home with my wifi the phone it's self chose to pause it until I got home to enter my wifi zone. I'm assuming that. Or maybe a call came in. Anyway I forgot about the app because one of the ones that I downloaded before this one was a game and I started playing it and never went back to the other apps I had downloaded. Anywya I wish there was a way to store the iTunes password in the phone but that's not possible and this answers that question! : http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9736261&#9736261

The "PAUSED" app looked like this: (right side bottom)

I'm having the same problem! I keep entering the passowrd over and over and over and over.... I hit "cancel" and it wouldn't sync the changes I had made to what music was synced. So then I hit "don't authorize" and now it's deleting music and apps from my iPhone! (!?!?!?!?) It keeps asking me for the password of an old account I had. I just went though my apps 1 by 1 and they all say, under "properties" that they are for my current account. NOW that I hit "don't authorize" it is just telling me "go authorize your computer"...which when I go to do it says "You are already authorized". Yeah!!! I know!!!

Help!
