Macbook doesn't show my HUAWEI E220 USB Modem

I plug the modem in and nothing happens. Modem works fine on PC and has the latest firmware.
When I go into network settings it isn't there either.

Macbook 5,1, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

you need to download the mobile connect dashboard for mac found in Huawei website, this will install the driver for the e220 aswell as the dialer for you to be able to connect to the net on your mac using your huawei e220
