GPC Daemon Tool (what is this?)

I opened my activity monitor to see what was going on with my itunes as it kept 'not responding' for about a minute or two after opening it. At the same time i noticed four separate processes of something called GPC daemon tool. I just want to know what exactly is this and why is it running so much?

MacBook Pro (early '09), Mac OS X (10.5.6), New to the mac world :)

Do you have a prefpane called GamePad Companion installed? That may be the GPC process (daemon is just a generic term for a process that runs in the background).

ok, well i found it and threw it out using AppDelete, but for some reason it's still running. I guess someone installed it when i wasn't using my comp. How do i completely get rid of it?

You may need to log out then back in, or restart, possibly then delete it again - if components are still running, in cannot be deleted.
