Mac OS X 10.4.11 ... But which Finder.app version? I seem to have Two!

Hi. I haven't been able to find any previous threads related to this, my apologies if there is one.

For unrelated reasons, I took a look in my /System/Library/CoreServices directory today. I discovered I have to copies of Finder.

More precisely, I have two files that are named Finder listed in my CoreServices directory. They have several differences.

One is actually called Finder.app, the other doesn't have the .app extension in the Get Info window.

Finder.app is 8.8 MB on disk. Created April 1, 1976. Modified March 1, 2009. Version: Mac OS X Finder 10.4.7

Finder is 4 KB on disk (although has many Contents!) Created April 1, 1976. Modified August 21, 2005. Version: Mac OS X Fake Finder 10.0 copyright 2001 Apple Computer

Now, it seems pretty obvious that something is wrong here. But when I double-click either of these files I get the message that it is use by Mac OS X and can not be opened.

Can someone here explain what is going on?
