Windows XP and Firewall protection with AirPort

I have my Airport set up as a closed network and realize when I am using my Mac OSX that I have full firewall protection. When I initiate Windows XP and turn my firewall settings off by going to Settings > Control Panel > Windows Firewall am I still protected because of how Airport is set up and provides a firewall? BTW I have full Norton Anti Virus for Windows installed on this Mac.

Not sure about the need or anything with NAV for OS X. Perhaps it has improved.

A hardened router does a lot, but I would still use software for firewalls. There are things you can do on a router to filter, log and block, but you have to take extra steps. And why turn off Windows firewall again?

Some thing a router can be enough, but those are the same people that custom configure.

On OS X I use NetBarrier (use to use Little Snitch) and maybe ClamXav.

Go to a site that can test your system why not.
