iCal not creating new events

Recently I had issues with my mac and its date functions. A mac genius helped me set up a new account on my mac and carry all the information over to the new acount. All this worked fine.

Ever since I can no longer create new events in iCal. I can create an event, then when I quit and re open, all the new events are gone. All events before this restructuring are fine.

Any help please?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.

There are two things which I would recommend:
1. First of all try refreshing the the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Drag the file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart, and hopefully you will be able to add events.
2. Repair Disk Permissions.

Let us know what happens.
