Macbook Air "No Batteries Available"????

I have the first gen macbook air 1.6Ghz with 2GB of DDR2 Ram. For some reason there's an "X" on the battery icon and it says there are no batteries available. What could be the cause of the problem?

iMac 24', 3.06Ghz, 1TB, GeForce 130, 4GB DD3, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Hi Mufasa804,

The "X" over the battery icon indicates that the battery is not being detected by the computer. A couple of things you can try at home but your best, next step, is to arrange a visit to your local Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider.
