Question

Second Generation Shuffle compatibility

Looking at getting a shuffle for my daughters birthday and just wondered if al a second Generation Shuffle will work with OSX Panther?

Powerbook G4, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

i'm sure that as long as you have the latest version of itunes it will work but just wait for someone else to confirm that but thats my view. The computer should if you have installed all of the updates and if you have the latest version of itunes it should work, having the latest version should enable it to be detected.

Thank you Alex, ill wait to see what other replies i get because i can only udate my itunes to a certain point because then i need the next operating system.

Oh oky sorry i don't have panther so i have never experienced this but good luck and i hope that it is compatible 😉

Now im at home ive just checked and my itunes version is fine. Just need to know if my osx 10.3.9 will still be ok? If not what will the problem be?

These are listed as the minimum specs for the 2nd Generation Shuffle:

Mac Requirements
USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.4.8 or later
iTunes 7.4 or later
Internet connection (broadband recommended; fees may apply)
iTunes Store account4

2nd Generation Shuffle is no longer compatible with iTunes. Since they upgraded they have made the Shuffle a nightmare. If you get a 2nd gen DO NOT upgrade your iTunes. You will lose most of the functions and it is very frustrating.
