Auto bcc to myself

Mail settings on the iPhone (2.0) allow for automatically sending a blind copy (bcc) of sent emails to myself. The problem is that the email address used for the bcc is the one indicated in my email account definition. There is no way to enter a different email address for that function as there is just an ON/OFF selection for the bcc function. However many spammers are spoofing one's own email address in the FROM field of their spam, therefore emails from me to me are automatically stopped by our anti-spam software. Can't Apple allow for the entry of a different email address to be used for these auto-bcc? This would solve that problem.

Apple could allow for this, but they haven't done so. The always Bcc myself places the email address for the email account being used to send the message in the Bcc field, which is likely what the majority of people who make use of this option prefer.

I too would like a different "bcc" address than the one sending from (so you don't get that same message back on your iphone right away) on my Blackberry I used to bcc ALL of my emails to a google account, just so I had a record of everything I sent. I really wish Apple could do this with the iPhone.

Apple needs to address this issue. It is most needed if they are to be considered a "business" email platform. On my Treo I bcc'd everything I sent so I could have a copy on my desktop machine.

I agree that it would be helpful to select a specific mail account for the bcc function. I use rules on one of my macs (that runs 24/7) to keep a copy of all incoming and outgoing mail in a local mailbox as an archive, but iit would be more convenient to set up another address just to capture outgoing mail.

I too would like this feature. My Blackberry did it. I store all my sent mail in my gmail acct which is separate from the IMAP account that I have as the default.

Plus my spam filter discourages bcc to self since spammers use your address in their from field.

Come on Apple! Lets get this done!
