Creating a fake printer

Hi All,

I want to create a fake printer. I want to be able to save pdf's at A1 & A0 size. The largest printer I have is an A3, which limits me to being able to print pdfs up to that size.

Is there a way of creating a fake printer, where a driver of a large format printer sits on your machine (although there is no printer connected to the mac), simply so that I can use the pdf save option up to A0.

Thanks

T

The hardest part will be finding a printer PPD that contains those paper sizes. Once you have a suitable PPD, simply go to Print & Fax System Preference. Click the "+" icon to add a printer. Choose the IP icon in the Add Printer window. Select LPD as the protocol and enter the address for your own computer (check under Network preference if you are not sure). Then use the Print Using option to navigate to the PPD for a large format printer. Click Add.

You should now be able to use that printer to select the appropriate page sizes and then Save as PDF.
