How come emails I receive in AOL do not highlight Hyperlinks

I would like to know why Hyperlinks are not highlighted in my emails. I always have to copy and past the links to my browser. Is there a setting I am missing? Thanks

Hi Monogee!

The sender must format/insert the links.

If they are just putting in an address, like http://www.apple.com, then the AOL mail just reads it as text.

To exemplify what I mean, do this.

Open a new AOL mail document.
In the text portion, type in http://www.apple.com.
Hit Return.
On the next line, go to the AOL "Edit" menu, pull the cursor down to "Insert", move the cursor over to "Insert Hyperlink".
In the "Text:" field, type Apple.
In the "Address" field, type, or C & P, http://www.apple.com
Now send the Email to yourself.

You will see that the first line in not a clickable hyperlink, but the second one is.

And I'm sorry Sara, I don't use my Apple Mail app, so I can't advise you. But there may be something similar in that program.

Addendum to my previous post:

http://www.apple.com is showing up in here as a clickable hyperlink, of course, so for the experiment, do not C & P. Type the address.

That also reminded me that if the sender copies & pastes a hyperlink into an Email document, as opposed to just typing the address, it should be clickable.

Therefore, add that to your test Email. Copy & Paste this link from here, on a third line in the document.
