Q: Recording True Stereo impulses

Hi,
I will be making True Stereo impulse recordings coming week (first time, before I only made 'normal' stereo impulse recordings) and now I'm checking out how that will work.

This is what I assume I should do:
- arm the first 2 tracks labelled 'Speaker position L' with mic positions L and R and start sweeping and recording.
- then do the same for the last 2 tracks labelled 'Speaker position R' with mic positions L and R and start recording this as well.
(- and then deconvolve)

What I found a bit odd is that I manually have to change the Sweep channel (in the Sweep generator section) from channel 1 to channel 2 before doing the second recording (Speaker position R). That's why I'm thinking if I do something wrong. It seems easy for Apple to program that it automatically switches to recording the right speaker output.

For now, I only want to know if the procedure I described above is the right procedure. Later I can write a bug-report (or feature-request) if necessary

Thanks a lot for helping out!

You are correct, you have to switch it manually. When I am sweeping rooms, I actually only use one speaker (I move it around), so automatic switching would be aggravating to me. Make sure you generate the SD preset before you quit, there's a wicked little bug that keeps projects from coming back correctly, but if you make the SD preset right away it works fine.

Thanks! Actually a good idea to use only one speaker. Saves me from dragging 2 speakers
to that place. Makes sense now that it doesn't automatically changes the sweep channel.

I know about the deconvolve bug, learned it the hard way....
