How do you make Pie styled progress bars like this one in this link bellow

Can you name a few?

I can see a linear progress bar, but that rounded timer example looks like an animated cursor. Apple seems to have adopted a habit of limiting those...something about being a distraction for the user.

In xcode when you are compiling something it shows the progress.
In espresso when you are uploading or downloading something it appears by the item.
One of the hidden debug settings in safari 4 replaces the favicon with it.
Those are just some out of the top of my head.
