This seems liek it is more of the camera manufacturer's problem - have you looked on their website?
I have this webcam, and it says it works with OSX but when you install it, it says it doesnt work with anything lower then 9. I tried some other drivers from versiontracker but can seem to get it to work, any suggestions?

Have you tried it running classic?

Yah, I checked their site... spent an hour or so last night googling my cam and trying to figure out how to get it to work...
What is Classic and how do I do that? (only have my imac for a little over a week haha)

If it's a QuickCam Messenger it doesn't work in OSX. I checked
HERE on Logitech's site. That particular cam doesn't have Mac support. There is a lot of the other Logitech cams that do though.
Is that your cam?
Is that your cam?
Yes, that is my Cam
I found that page also, but the CD that CAME with that Cam, says MAC OSX but when you install it it says it has to be 9 or earlier

I'm perplexed. I see absolutely no indications that that particular cam supports Macs. Neither OSX or previous OS's (such as OS9).
Regardless what your trying to do won't work. Your machine doesn't boot into OS9. Classic is what your machine does. It basically emulates OS9 and I would say you're not going to get it to work within that emulation.
Did you just buy the cam? I'd take it back if you can. Replace it with something that according to Logitech's site does support OSX.
Did the CD that you have have two different installers? Maybe you installed the OS9 driver (which obviously you did) but there might be an OSX on the disc too.

I am almost positive the CD had OSX and OS9 listed but I could be wrong.
No, I have had the WebCam too long to replace it. There is only a select few logitech cams that say they work with OSX (10.2) - could I used that? I found nothing for 10.4.
I know I am not the only one with this problem, as on this page:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14288
Some else says:
"I just got a Logitech Quickcam Messenger. The install CD is clearly labeled Mac OS X. It's just not compatible with Panther (10.3) or above."

Yeah Courtnie that was were I was going to send you. To get the IOXpert driver. But as you see from that list your cam isn't supported there either.
That's very interesting about the disc Logitech includes. Unless they just stick a generic driver disc in with the cam. Something that would work with another of their cams. To be honest I'd give Logitech a call. Tell them you have a cam that according to the box supports OSX yet the included driver doesn't work and there very own site excludes that camera in OSX. See if they can suggest something.
