imac G5 or new ibook G4?

imac G5 or new ibook G4?

Am soon to buy an Apple but which? THe powerbook is out of my price range, leaves me stuck between the portablility of the ibook and the performance of the G5; I'm a graphic design studnet. I think I just want to hear some personal opinions/preferences to help me decide! Any comments much appreciated! Rose.

IMac G5 is a much superior machine. If you can live without portability, go for the iMac.

I'm a graphic design studnet

You need a large monitor for graphic design - so get the 20inch iMac G5.

You need a fast processor for graphic design - so get an iMac G5.

When you have made some money as a graphic designer you will be able to afford the luxury of a second mac that is portable.

what do you use at uni? machine wise it shouldnt make any difference... but if you use big screens at uni, you will find a ibook small and could limit you creative flow! I got used to my 14 inch ibook - anything was better than the windoze pc they wanted me to use at work; but since they have got me a 20 imac the other month I now only use my ibook for surfing the web and when i am working away from the office! Might be worth getting yourself a portable hard drive to help transfer uni work back & forth. Dont forget to go to the apple education store for your discount!
