Itunes and quicktime player problems

So itunes always asked me if i wanted to upgrade to the higher version and i always said no. I finally said yes and then it wanted me to download a higher version of quicktime player. But the problem is I can not download it because I have an older mac. Is there anything i can do to get back into my itunes? maybe is there a way that i can recover my mac to before i downloaded the new itunes. your help would be greatly appreciated thank you!!!!!!!

If you are running 10.4.9 you need to update to 10.4.11 using the combo update. After that go to Software update and get current with all your apps including Quicktime. Be sure you repair permissions before and after the combo update and then after you update your apps.
