Can't authorize to play song from iTunes

Never come across this before. I'm trying to use a song purchased years ago from iTunes in a project but iMovie is saying my computer isn't authorized to play it. When i go to iTunes to authorize it it says the song is already authorized. Still, iMovie doesn't allow me to use it. Why is this?

Just deauthorized, deleted iTunes, installed newest version (8.2), reauthorized and still won't allow to use purchased songs in iMovie. There is no update to what just installed.

I have been through this before and spent several hours doing things like this, speaking with Apple, reinstalling previous versions, etc. We upgraded to the higher quality downloads (don't remember what they call it) but nothing works. This has to stop or we will never download from iTunes again.

Any other ideas? Guess we will have to convert the file format of those things we purchased.
