Dangerous to use Ipod in bathtub?

"The iPod is an electrical device attached to a cord that is trailing in water. Electrical devices should not be used while in water but it's your life. A smart person would use a sound dock instead of headphones. "


It would probably be dangerous if my ipod was connected to the charger at the same time, but its not. Its only battery in my ipod and they are not even in touch with water, so how can this be dangerous?

I got sound dock but its not the same clear sound as you get in headset.

"Assuming the iPod is not plugged into the wall and it's just running off the battery, you can't get hurt/electrocuted from the iPod dropping into your bath water... it has no where near the stored energy or current capacity to hurt you. Obviously, the water will probably ruin the iPod though."

Thank You! The one and only post that did make sense. I also thought that the small battery inside the ipod can do no harm do man. You all should try bathtub ipodheadset! ITS FUN AND SAFE! SAFETY FIRST!

"No thanks. I'd rather not trip the water sensors on the iPhone and then be denied service if the phone develops an issue. Besides, I don't consider it fun or safe to use an electronic device in the tub."

Why? The ipod is in no contact with water. Only some of my wire from headset may get in conctact with water.
