How to add Quicktime components (Avid) to FCP/Quicktime on Mac
Hello! By recommendation, we are trying to add the Avid compnents/codecs to a FCP system to make it possible to export a Quicktime file with Avid codecs, for opening/output to tape. We've run the package from Avid, but the codecs don't show up in FCP or in Quicktime. What next? Thanks! chris
You should have downloaded them from [here|http://avidtechnology.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/avidtechnology.cfg/php/enduser /popup

They need to be in Hard Drive/Library/QuickTime. Do you see them there?
If so, restart your computer.
We DID download them from there, and they were in "Lbrary/Quicktime", however they didn't appear, even after restart. We tried moving them to "System/Library/Quicktime", but that didn't help either.
