Does anyone know why Apple discontinued their Bluetooth Headset?

I recently was told at an Apple Store that Apple has discontinued the production of their Bluetooth Headset.

I'm sure that the Apple Bluetooth headset didn't sell as well as the other popular Apple products, especially with all the competition, but I found it's compatibility with the iPhone (and the Dual dock), the best Bluetooth Option for the iPhone (despite being easy to lose).

After recently losing my Apple headset, I'm not sure what is my next best option.

Anyone else feel the same?
