Intel GMA X3100 driver update for OSX?

After noticing lackluster running games on my Macbook, I did some research on the Intel GMA X3100 and have read reports that the Windows versions of the driver are more up to date and perform better than the OSX drivers.

Has anyone discovered a way to update drivers or have any word on when Apple will update the drivers for the chip?

So if I didn't notice performance increase after .7 then they probably didn't update any drivers and I am probably SOL for a long time?

You can use the 'System Profiler' app (Applications/Utilities folder) to check what has been changed/updated with the 10.5.7 update.

And since performance increases can be very subtle, you might not notice them although they are there.

So really, what you guys are saying is that there's nothing we can do if it's not working?

Is there a previous version of the driver we can revert to? Or is there a copy of the current driver somewhere that we can try to reinstall?

I've got a 21" LG monitor connected to my MacBook through my Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver's HDMI switch. It sounds to me like somewhere in there, the EDID (Extended Display ID) is getting lost, but I'm told that the Onkyo preserves the EDID, so that shouldn't be an issue. All of the Mini-DVI, DVI, and HDMI interfaces I'm using are EDID compliant. It used to work just fine with both 10.5.5 and 10.5.6. Any suggestions?
