Audio muffled when importing to Logic Pro

Audio muffled when importing to Logic Pro

I am trying to import some audio files into a Logic Pro project and for some reason when I play them in Logic they are really muffled and quiet, but when I play the same files in iTunes they're fine.

Anybody know why? I've tried importing mp3s and aiff files and converting to wave as well, but still getting muffled sound.

do you have some eq setting engaged in iTunes? That might explain the difference.

No, and I've opened them up in different projects and they work fine. I can't figure it out and I've had to spent the whole afternoon copying over all the data into a new project file to get around the problem. I'd still like to know why this happened though if anyone can shed any light?

If they are fine in another project, then the files are not the issue. There must be some plugin or something in the audio stream of the song you opened them in originally that is causing them to sound differently. What is different between that song and the one you have opened them in with success?
