write bagpipe music

I want to write and play back bagpipe music, with all the accurate movements, ie taorluaths, doublings etc. Garageband doesn't seem to let me do this. Am I wrong? Is there an Apple program or Mac-friendly program that will let me do this? Bagpipe Music Writer is the standard for pipers, but it's a Windows-only program, and if I get a PC simulator I have to buy a Windows operating system as well. To **** with that.

Bagpipe software: i've heard everything now!! 😉

You could try the AMG expansion pack for GarageBand, has 4 bagpipes apparently!: http://floridamusicco.com/proddetail.asp?prod=garagexpansion

(you'd really need a midi keyboard of some kind to play the software instruments and use any expression they might have, but you can to do it manually in the note editor).

Also, GarageBand 2 has music notation I think - not used it myself yet...

N.B. probably best posting this in the GarageBand forum next time: http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?14@@.68a477c1

Notationally, there's nothing mentioned on the page for Bagpipe Music Writer Gold that can't be done in any standard notation program (although I don't think I'd want to use GB as a notation program, myself, not for all those ornaments).

Check out Music Time Deluxe from gvox.com, and Finale Print Music from makemusic.com. They'll notate it for you, but I don't know about the playback. They'll play back, but at that level I don't know if you get any options remotely resembling a bagpipe sound.
