After pausing Podcast, when you come back to listen, it will not play

Some podcasts (mostly NPR podcasts, but some others): First I pause, and turn off I Touch. Later, when I turn on to continue podcast, it stops, as if the podcast is finished: it just goes back to the podcast list.

If I replay podcast from beginning, it ends at the spot i paused it.

Re syncing with ITunes does not fix this - but the podcast on the computer plays complete. The I touch does not.

My only current fix is to 1) delete podcast 2) sync Itouch 3) re-download podcast 4) re sync I touch. If I don't pause the podcast, it plays all the way thru. If I pause it, it's a crap shoot as to whether it will play again.

This only happens to about 10% of my podcasts, and is random with respect to which podcast show it does it to.

Any ideas?

Pete: thanks, but that is not the problem.

After pausing, it will not play past the pause. It's as if the balance of the podcast has been erased. Can't even fast forward past the pause spot.

Here's a new twist: I sync the same file to my Iphone, and it will play past the pause. In fact, I haven't had this problem with the Iphone.
