10.5.7 update external device
this is not a question, i just post it in case sb else has a similar problem
it seemed that i had quite a problem with this updade on my imac, but not on the macbookpro, strangely. the issue was that the imac could not "sleep", it came right back on every time, but did not crash as some experienced here.
after some intensive research in the system-log i found it was a very small device that did this: USB (EHCI):Port 1 on bus 0xfd has remote wakeup from some device.
the hub had a sandisk micromate in use which i use to transfer fotos and films.
and voila: once the device was removed, sleep mode was possible again.
