Safari takes 30 to 70 % CPU after updating to 10.5.7

Hello. After updating to 10.5.7, Safari started consuming large amounts of CPU, roughly 30–70% average, causing Safari to react very slowly. I first observed this behavior with Safari 4 beta. I uninstalled that because I thought it was the version 4 that causes that. So I reinstalled 3, but that didn't seem to change anything. Does anyone else experience that?

16,7GHzPPCG4, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 2 G RAM

Try resetting Safari by going to Safari>Reset and uncheck saved passwords and auto forms. Try a restart of your mac. Could be Flash animations causing high cpu usage. You may have a outdated version of FlashPlayer. Uninstall FlashPlayer. Install the newest version here.
Repair permissions after the update.
