How to use a universial remote if the Apple Remote is missing?

My kids lost our Apple Remote that we use with Apple TV. We have a few universal remotes around the house and I thought about using one of them. However, all the instructions I've seen online for using a universal remote make you got through the Apple TV menus. Obviously I can't do that without the Apple Remote.

Can I set one of my Universal remotes to a specific remote code to at least get a head start?

Thanks

google result for "one4all apple remote"

We do have two seperate codes that operate the Apple Remote Controls. Considering that a code may change depending on the orig. remote control used, it is possible that these codes are the suitable ones for your Apple Remote. Nonetheless, the codes for these devices would be:

Misc. Audio Code: 1115 and/or
Misc. Audio Code: 1644

Due to the fact, that this code is a fairly new created code, we advise to get a remote control that is both learnable, and phone upgradeable. The learning capability enables to copy functions from an orig. Infra-Red Remote Control onto the URC 7562 OFA Remote. The Upgradeability enables to upgrade the codes, through our toll-free number directly.

The suitable remote controls, that we recommend are:

URC 8060 Kameleon 6
URC 7781 Stealth 12
URC 7562 Metallic 6
URC 8305 Kameleon 5
URC 8308 Kameleon 8
URC 8350 Energy Saver Remote
URC 8210 Kameleon 10
URC 8206 Kameleon 6

I guess I wasn't clear enough. Sorry about that. I don't have an All4One brand remote. I have a remote for my Sony TV (that also has DVD and Audio buttons) a remote for my Sony DVD player (which also has a TV switch) and a remote for my EyeTV Hybrid.

By "All4One type" I meant that one can put in a code and change the transmission for those devices. However, they don't take All4One codes.

For instance, on my SOny TV remote, I can change the DVD activated buttons to emulate a Hitachi DVD player if I enter in code "758"

Anything similar for Apple TV is what I am after.

Thanks for the hlpe so far.

right so you have a sony remote that is capable of controlling other devices.

there were threads on this a while back, with no resolution.

you might need to contact sony to see if they have a code.

the easiest solution may be just to get a replacement apple remote. they are not that expensive.
