Screen Saver brightness.

I can't seem to stop my screen from going dull when in screensaver mode. The screensaver is only up for around five minutes before it dulls the brightness of the screen.

I've got my screensaver set to the following settings:

Screensaver Type: computer name.
Screensaver activated: after five minutes.
Display to sleep: 30 minutes.
Computer to sleep: 1 hour.

So why, when the screensaver comes on, at full brightness, does it go dull after only five minutes!?!

Thanks.

Your Computer will auto dim the screen if tis not in use, if you leave it it should do it while running as well (If it stays on long ought from lack of use to do it). This is to power down the backlight to save power and extend the life of the backlight.

LCD screens do not burn in as such I don't think, that was a CRT thing. For an LCD screen you're better off just letting it put the screen to sleep as that shuts the backlight off completely.

The screen saver is just eye candy for you on an iMac.
