I Have 2 iTunes Folders! Help Please!

I renamed my husband's iTunes folder (in his Music) with his name "John's iTunes". BIG MISTAKE! We are using Windows Vista . Now I have TWO iTunes music folders! The original folder now is named John's iTunes & the new folder (which appeared magically) is named "iTunes". Now any new music goes to the iTunes folder, but his iPod Touch synchs to the original folder, now renamed "John's iTunes". The iTunes that opens from desktop shortcut is id'd as "iTunes" in the preferences (not John's iTunes).

A message does come up at synch, stating this do you want to sych with this new folder, but that all previous data on the iPod will be lost. The two folders differ - the original has 5.33GB & has Mobile Apps & Previous iTunes Libraries(not listed in "iTunes", the new one has 332MB & has Album Artwork (not listed in "John's iTunes").
My question is this: CAN I JUST RENAME THE ORIGINAL FILE BACK TO "iTunes"? and just delete the new folder?

Local Apple tech said to add the music folder from John's iTunes to new iTunes folder & then delete the original(larger) folder. After I did this, the total size of each iTunes folder remained the same. I am very reluctant to just delete the original larger folder!

Can anyone help?

Thanks Chris CA! Your solution worked to restore this iTunes back to where it was before I foolishy RENAMED A FOLDER! I will never do that again. However, before I followed your instructions, I checked each folder to see if the John's iTunes was missing some content from the new iTunes folder. Sure enough, there were new apps & music. I added the music back by using "add file or folder" tab. This would not work for apps, so I added the new apps by dragging to the "John's" folder. Oh, and before I did all this, I did a full back-up of all files just in case.

THANKS for your help - all is well in our iTunes world now!
