Restore Function Keys

I've recently upgraded my machine to 10.5 after using 10.4 for a long time. One annoying thing I've noticed is that I now have use the function key to access the brightness and volume controls (F1-F5) whereas I used to just push the buttons directly. I don't know if this has to do with the software update or a setting I've changed, but does anyone know what I need to switch so I can go back to how it was.

Hey there,
Try this, head to system preferences, and then click on Keyboard and Mouse, and under the keyboard tab, make sure sure there is no check mark next to "use F1, F2, etc as standard function keys." and see if that helps.

Can't say that is exactly what is says, but it should point you in the right direction. Hope it does. 😉
