HELP!!!!

I just bought my iPhone and i connected it to charge it. It stayed n the Apple logo so i thought that's how it charged. I left it for about an hour and a half and tried to turn it on and it didn't. So then I left it to charge for the night and in the morning it didn't turn on. The only way that it turns on is if it is connected to a power source but it only stays on the apple logo. Can anyone help with this?????
