X11 Opens with Gray Screen and xterm window after latest Update

After the recent update, I notice that when I run X11 it grays out the screen and only shows xterm window. The original Mac desktop becomes unaccessible. Of course, if I quit out (commad-Q) original desktop is restored. I was wondering if you have experienced the same problem.

My system is (early 2006 Mac Pro)

Thanks for your response. I do not see the top menu bar and cannot access the pull down menu to find out what "About" shows. I even updated the latest X11 (from a link provided by another thread in this form). I am pretty confident that it has the same 2.1.6 version. The problem still persists.

Thanks for the tip about Full Screen Mode. Using Cmd-Opt-A, I can toggle back to the Mac desktop; however, I lose the xterm windows. Using Cmd-Opt-A I can get back to xterms but again in all grey background.

Also echo $DISPLAY shows

/tmp/launch-tfD1KP/:0

Should it show just : 0
