Also, when you're locked out of your phone and do a restore, you shouldn't restore the backup. Your just putting the same pass code back on the phone. Restore and setup as a new phone.
Hopefully you have your information synced to your computer so you can get your information back on your phone that way.
I restored my phone from backup just yesterday which was locked with a passcode. The passcode was no longer there after the restore, but neither were my contacts and calendars!!! I am sooo upset. Evidently, it synced, or backed up my network data, txts and phone calls, but my contacts/ calendars, and apps are all gone after the restore... Anyone got any good news or advise they'd like to share about possibly recovering contacts????

The iPhone's backup does not include any iTunes content including 3rd party apps, and doesn't include photos transferred from your computer. This data should be available/remain on your computer, which must be retransferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process when doing a restore.
Contact info and calendar events are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer. With XP, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007 for both, or with the address book used by Outlook Expess (Windows Contacts) for contact info only.
