Have just upgraded to iTunes 9. Everything is OK except that nothing appears in cover flow view - just a big black space. Fine in other views. Come on, Apple!
Thanks
I have the same problem. I think the artwork is actually there but not being dispalyed. When I open Remote on my Touch all the artwork is there. If you go to 'Get Info' it shows no artwork but it appears in all other views except Cover Flow.
Any ideas on the fix
I had the same problem (win XP). solved it turning on hardware accelleration on the video card settings. it was disabled. just make sure to turn it up at least three steps. it worked for me 🙂
anyway now browsing through the covers in iTunes causes glitches on the audio being played, so I guess I'm not using it anymore... 😟
I have the exact same problem! Nothing is displayed in my cover flow isn't displaying along with the album artwork. Only the name and artists of the songs are displaying and those other details. Only a black screen appears where the cover flow should be displaying. I reinstalled it 3 times but still experience the same problem. I am using the latest version of iTunes 9.0.2.25, and only a few days back this problem occurred while before it was fine. I need some help please, I don't like the grid and list views! 🙂
I dont know if anyone found a solution but I found one for my computer. After googling and googling I couldn't find anything. I found bit and pieces about what could be wrong. The answer wasn't hard. I had to update my graphics card and it sounds like many of you may need to since most of you guys are using XP and/or an older OS system. Check DirectX 9.0, your startup items, and such to check what's wrong first. If that doesn't work then try the following.
Nvidia has a scanner which scans your system for possible updates. Search what kind of graphics card you have. I don't know if Mac users have the same problem, but check if Quartz Extreme is enabled and make sure that ATI drivers and NVIDIA drivers are up to date. If you are using a startup manager make sure to have iTunes Helper enabled since it makes it load faster. It is not necessary but its faster to load. Cover flow isn't really necessary to me, but it felt "empty" without that option. Hopefully this will help you get your cover flow fixed.
I had the same problem and after reading this thread, I poked around and discovered my hardware acceleration was off. I know I didn't do this myself, so obviously something skipped out my graphics card when it installed. I'm running WinXP, which means a right-click on the desktop to get to Properties, clicking the Settings tab and the Advanced button to open my NVidia window (I've got an old GeForce3 Ti200), and clicking the Troubleshoot tab to turn my hardware acceleration back on. It fixed the problem so far... hope this helps someone else.
