Olympus camedia 4.2 program quits

Without knowing a bit more about your set up it is hard to offer advice, but here are a few thoughts...
Have you checked the software is compatible with os10.4?
Have you tried repairing permission (applications / utilities / disk utility). It is a good idea to do this before and after installing software.
As a olympus camera users (for 5+years) i would suggest you ditch their software and use iphoto instead.

When you launch the installer, you should have the option of upgrading or uninstalling the old version.

As mentioned, it would be easiest to unisintall the Camedia program and just let iPhoto do the work for you. If you insiste on using the Camedia program, try upgrading it from the installer if possible, or remove it by uninstalling it, restarting your Mac, and reinstalling the program.

Did I mention that my personal choice would be to trash the Camedia software and go with i Photo?

I am using Tiger and have no problems with Camedia 4.2. I would trash the preferences files from your home library>Preferences>Camedia. There are three, Cameria Master 4.0 Prefs, Camedia Master 4.0 Print, Camedia master English. plist. I'd start with the .plist open it and see if that helps, if not trash all three and see if that does it.

If you can't get Camedia to work try GraphicConverter. You can add text with it and do a lot of other things too.
