Z1 to latest mac book pro

hi i need to capture footage from a sony z1 @ 1080i. i have a new mac pro 15' laptop and it now doesnt seem to have the firewire800 connection port ive used before on a mac laptop.
so i need to go from the 4 pin camera dv connection to the mac book pro via? to capture into FCP latest version. mac has firewire 800 and usb 2.

im being told
' A 4-pin-to-9-pin FireWire 800 connection usually won't work. You need a 4-pin mini FireWire to 6-pin FireWire 400 (also called DV or i.Link or IEEE1394) cable.'

i cant seem to find a cable on the mac store tho

oh i see - easy .
i was misinformed then - i was told that there wasnt a cable that went from 4 pin (z1) to firewire 800.
thanks for quick reply. ill see if apple store has a 4pin - 800 firewire . then i can just connect to my mac 800 port and digitize in direct from the camera?

Connect to the FW 800 port. You'll need a 4pin to FW 800 cable.

we have connected the cable from z1 to laptop but fcp cannot see the z1 in capture too
it says cannot initialize device
isthe there a cam setting or fcp im missing?
