audio channel 1 and 2 to audio left and right??

I am going to dub from betacam machine has audio ch 1 and ch 2 to DV deck that has audio left and right. I am not sure which channel 1 connect to left or right? I am deaf and not usually transfer video with audio. So I can use mini dv so I can log and capture it on FCP. Appreicate your assistance.
