Saving iTunes Samples

It used to be that you could drag song previews to a playlist then export that playlist to find the source URL to a preview MP3. Seems you can't do this anymore which is a shame as I need some of these for a band site. Does anyone know how you can grab copies of preview MP3s? I'm not looking to link to them. I intend to store them.
Thanks.

If you want the URL to a track in the iTunes Store, try iTunes Link Maker. You can quickly search for an copy URLs for any given item.

BTW, tracks in the iTunes Store are not MP3 and never have been. Just to make sure you know. And you cannot get actual copies of the preview samples; you can only link to the item in the iTunes Store.

I used to be able to grab previews and store them locally in just the manner I described at the beginning of this post.

That's never been possible that I can remember, and certainly was never supported. You could store a link to the preview by saving it in a playlist as Christopher said. But the previews have never been downloadable as a separate playable file; if you copied them off by some means, you probably used some sort of third-party hack. Or you are remembering some other site, not the iTunes Store.

As Dave noted, previews have never been downloaded as a file.
A preview is simply a link to a streaming file. If you are not connected tio the internet and runnning iTunes, you cannot hear the preview.
