EXS and the EWI 4000s vyzex patch app

A buddy of mine has a studio and uses Logic. When I told him I bought an EWI 4000S,
he laughed and said 'you?, Mr. Acoustic',
he said bring it all over to his studio and lets hook it up and have some fun,
which we did ... hours and hours

The EWI comes with an app, Vyzex, which is how you make patches to upload to the EWI.

As we were knee deep in him trying to teach me how Logic worked,
and the differences between
an LFO and a UFO .... he noticed that
the EXS portion of Logic Pro has an option to 'open with Vyzex',
which when you do that, up pops the Vyzex app, and you can hear
the sound from Logic, but, you can't work with it or
save the sound into the EWI or Vyzex.

So, are we missing something to save the patch, or does the fact that
EXS opens Vyzex really not mean all that much. As you can probably tell,
I'm pretty new at this....
