When I click "reply to all" on my iPhone it includes me in the send to list. When I do this Apple Mail it doesn't. Is there a way to turn this off on the iPhone?

iMac 24" 2.4 GHz 4GB ram, MacBook 13.3" 2.1 GHz 1 GB ram, Mac OS X (10.5.2), made the switch in March 2007!

I also have a forwarded account sent to my Mobile me account and it does as you say put my e-mail address in the Cc field.

Thinking about it logically it makes sense that this happens as your forwarded mail has effectively "sent" the message to you and would naturally receive a reply using reply all.

I therefore conclude (and stand to be corrected) that the process is working correctly, and I do not think there would be a way to stop this from happening.

Hope this makes sense and sorry I could not offer a solution.

I get the same with Mobile me when logged on at the office using Windows, in that a forwarded message includes me (from my forwarded account) as a "sender".

I follow the logic of this process and it makes sense, but will have a look at the set up on my mail.app on MBP when I get home later, as I don't understand why it is not happening in your mail.app.

Hi Bama,

I have had a look at my mail.app on my Macbook Pro, and when I look at an e-mail forwarded from my non Mobile Me account, and I click reply all, I am included in the Cc field.

This ties in with what I would expect as all areas mail.app/iPhone and Mobile me operate in the same way, but unfortunately does not help you.

I am afraid I don't have any other suggestions as for me it seems to work as I would expect.

Do you have any other accounts set up in Mail?
Is the address in your mail.app the same one as your forwarded e-mail address? if not is it your mobile me address?
There is a setting Mail>preferences>composing>automatically Cc myself - Is that ticked?

I have two accounts setup on both my Mac and iPhone - one is MM and one is a work email address. I have it setup to forward the work email to the MM account. So I'm not sure why I have both setup. Anyway I do. When I respond on my mac to an email sent to my work account the Mobile Me is not in the Cc field. When I respond on my iPhone to an email sent to my work account the Mobile Me is in the Cc field. I just made the account inactive on my Mac and did another test email and this time it included the Mobile Me on the Cc field. It knows that I am the Mobile Me user (since it is the only account setup) so I'm not sure why the default is to Cc myself. Doesn't make sense IMO. Oh well.

If you are accessing your work email account and your MM account as separate email accounts with the iPhone mail client, there is no reason to have your work email account forwarded to your MM account.

Having your work email account forwarded to your MM account is the problem, and you can't reply for forward a message originally sent to your work email account that was forwarded to your MM account from your work email address.

Stop forwarding your work email account to your MM account and test if this resolves the problem.

Two reasons I have it forwarded:

1. the iphone doesn't have a single inbox. I hate having to navigate back to check more mail.

2. I can check all my email (I actually have 3 - work, gmail and MM) all on one website when I using a computer that is not mine. If I didn't have it forwarded then I would have to login to 3 separate websites to check all my mail.

Forgot about being able to change the account a message is sent from, but then the sent message is in that account's Sent mailbox. I would hate having to remember to change the account the message is sent from for every sent message, but to each his/her own. I prefer the Mail.app's blended Inbox mailbox and Sent mailbox, etc. for all email accounts with the ability to open the blended Inbox or Sent mailbox, selecting an account to view messages received or sent by the selected account only, or viewing all messages received or sent by all accounts. Hopefully this is under consideration for the iPhone's Mail client.
