Screen comes on when phone is bumped

OK, this is weird. Sometimes when I take my phone out of my pocket or if I bump it or lay it down on my desk, it "wakes up" and the screen comes on just like I'd hit the home button. Is anyone else having an issue like this? It's done it for months. Is it a "bug" or a "feature?"
