Just installeed Itunes 8.2 and now windows and thereby Itunes cant recognize my Iphone. I have reinstalled Itunes, restarted windows, restarted the Iphone but with out any luck.
Help. What do I do now?
In recovery mode I see the same problem.
I restarted AMDS with no result.
These background processes are running:
iPodService.exe
iTunes Helper.exe
mDNSResponder.exe
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
distnoted.exe
On my mac I had a similar kind of problem when I updated to iTunes 8.2. At default my iPhone is locked and in the past iTunes didn't care it was locked. But now I had to unlock my iPhone before iTunes could recognize it. Maybe this is also a Windows 'error'?
I had the same problem with syncing the iphone, and in addition my whole library is gone, and when I manually synced the iphone all my music is now gone. Is there a way to recover any of that?
Okay, my Iphone is back.
I removed Itunes 8.2 and installed 8.1. No change. I then removed Itunes and the apple sync applications in the common folder, restarted and installed 8.1. No change. Then I plugin my Iphone to a Ubuntu linux laptop to test if it was a hardware fault. Ubuntu did not find it and it did not change. Then I grabed my Ipod nano and connected it to Ubuntu. It was found. Then in plugin my Iphone again and it was found by Ubuntu?! Then i plug it into the windows laptop and it was recognized and Itunes started sync'ing! Don't know what I did to make it work, but it works now.
Thank you for all the replies.
All you have to do is plug in an iPod first. Let iTunes recognize it, and let it sync. When it's done, just plug in your iPhone and it will be recognized!
