Facebook app missing data / not working correctly.

I'm having various issues with the facebook app and I'm curious if there are others - or if someone has some suggestions for a fix. It's really annoying me.

I can login fine, however... The News Feeds -> Status Updates, Photos, Links Always show 'no Stories'.

If I click on my profile button - initially the app will show my profile stuff on the Wall, Info, Photo tabs. If I exit the app and re-open it, those tabs become blank (even after shaking to refresh).

If I click on the Chat tab - I get "There was an error loading your online friends." (Clicking on the Friends tab populates them fine).

What I've tried:

1. Deleting, Re-installing the app

2. Creating a new FaceBook account and tying the app to that account (same issues)

3. Using my wife phone/facebook app (she has no problems with her FB account) - however the same problems exist when I log my account onto her FB.App phone.

4. Logging my wife's FB account into the app on my phone and it works fine.

5. Deleting the iPhone application from FB, removing the FaceBook application from my iPhone, reinstalling, then relaunching the application

It really seems like it might be a problem with the FB profile and maybe not the application -- but I can't see any differences between my FB account and my wifes.

Any help... Please! ?? 🙂

I've tried posting on their iPhone 'app' profile page.... But it doesn't look like they really monitor that. I haven't seen/found another support section thats actually live/monitored or a support email address.

I thought I was the only one... I have the exact same problem. I'm sure your profile shows up blank on others FBApp also. Pretty annnyoing, hopefully someone can steer us in the right direction. I too tried all those steps, nothing.

Why yes it does... My wife showed me how my profile looked when she clicked on it on her FB.App... HOZED.

Yeah i have an eerie feeling it is some glitch our profiles maybe? I have just deleted the App altogether and am just going to FB.com on Safari. Hopefully that will at least get my profile to show up to others... im checking on that now. Everything seems to be fine when going thru FB.com, but havent heard from anyone if my profile is showing up now that the App is gone. Have you tried just not using the App?

You happen to have had FBApp on one phone and had to get another? That is the only thing I can think of that mayyyybe could have caused this. Had a Refurb 3G for 4 days and never had any issues, Apple store gave me a new one and now issues... get a new phone recently?

I did get a new phone recently, however I didn't have the APP (nor a FaceBook account) on my old phone, so this is essentially a new config on this new/replaced phone.

The other phone I was referring too earlier - is my wife's phone... Which works fine for her login... My login on her's is broken as well... So I'm don't think it's a phone/app issue directly... But something on the FB profile itself.

I figured creating a new account on FB would fix it... But that didn't either. Unless all 'newer' facebook accounts are hozed and older ones are fine.

I have tried the EXACT same thing on my wifes phone also.. same issues, everything about hers works fine and mine is all jacked up. Her account works fine and she just got hers a couple weeks ago. I have had mine for a couple months... odd. I'm starting to think it is possibly just some glitch in our accounts in connection with FBApp. Seems that if I stay signed off of the App, my profile shows up to everyone. This is such an annoying problem and FB tech support is nonexistant.. where to turn to now?

Also, i am sure it is a FB/iPhone connectivity issue. You ever tried to connect to FB via a game such as Scramble or something like that? I have tried 3 different games... one just wont connect, one says it connected but cant retrieve FB info and the other simply shuts down. Total BS, there has got to be something the twoof us have in common that is causing this. Have you changed any settings or anything? I just turned off most of my notifications but that is all

I really don't know what else to look at. I went as far as creatig a completely new account pointed to a different email address and pointed the app to it. No changes to any settings and it acted the exact same way. It's almost like something takes the profile completely offline on the facebook side although then I would expect people on the web to show the issue and they don't.

Security from the app isn't being allowed access to something is my best guess but it all looks identical to my aides online security settings.

I am also having issues with the FB app. Many of my Friends do not display photos or info properly, telling me not photos or no info. Going to the FB site via Safari which is mobile aware does show more of the information, but it only lists friends that have had recent posts. The friend list there does in the mobile aware version will not show all my friends. I can go to the full site to get at all the data, but on the iPhone the layout of FB makes it difficult to select items as the site has so many hot spots it is easy to hit the wrong area one wants to go to.

Is anyone else having issues with the FB app?

I have the exact same problem as originally posted.

In addition, one of my friends cannot chat with me as it immediately logs him out of Facebook. But he can chat with others fine as well as I can chat with others with no issues.

Does anyone have a solution to any of this?

I am also experiencing issues with my Facebook app. I cannot find a way to fix any of the "No info" or "No photos" messages. I guess we'll all have to wait for the Facebook 3.0 update.

The facebook pretty much just ***** right now. I have random issues all the time, and have for a long time. They haven't updated it in a long time also. They claimed there was a new version coming back in June but nothing on that front. I also have gotten no response from them in support. Only thing you can do is suffer like the rest of us and wait for the new version.

I just got a new iphone G3s. I have the FB app on it and it was working fine for several weeks. I rarely use FB on a "real computer". Approximately last wednesday my FB app got hozed up and won't load my wall. I thought it would go away on it's own but it didn't so I tried reinstalling the app but that didn't help.

I looked on the facebook forum and there were 3 other posts of people with the same problem - and it started happening on the *same day* which makes me think it is something on the FB server side. I posted to the forum but that appears to be "self-help" at this point. I also reported the glitch to Facebook using their "Report a glitch" form.

Also I have submitted a bug report directly to the app developer. I noticed that there were an unusual amount of reports and questions submitted between August 12 and August 14, 2009, which also leads me to believe that FB has done something on their servers as of the 12th and it is causing the app to now gitch. I dont think it's the developers (or apps) fault. From a tech point of view, it definately points to a server issue.

Thats all the info I have to share at this time. I will keep you posted if I hear anything back from the FB team (as if). 🙂
