Car power adapter for Macbook Pro

Is there a power adapter/charger that connects the Macbook Pro to the cigarette lighter outlet?

Apple has not licensed the MagSafe technology to any other company. There may be some companies that create "make-shift" chargers by cutting the connector off of a regular charger and connecting it to an car adapter. None of these are distributed by reputable manufacturers so you take your chances in using them. Apple does produce an airline charger but that is not compatible with an auto outlet.

A number of people have posted here that they have successfully used an DC-to-AC auto inverter. These are designed to let you run 110V devices in the car. With one of those, you could use the regular charger.

Use the "Search Discussions" window (above the "welcome box" at the right) and search for "inverter." I suspect you;ll find specific references in older posts here.
