Safari NSPosixErrorDomain:1

Does anyone know how to correct the error below ?

Ssfari can't open page"http//livepage.apple.com The error was "operation could not be completed. Operation not permitted"(NSPOSIXErrorDomain:1)

I recently started getting this error in safari for every user except root. So I ran the Repair File Permissions Utility but I still keep getting it. I sent the error to Apple but they never replied.

Thank you.

Thanks for asking.

No I have never been able to find the cause. I am using Safari 3.2.3. For the root system administrator Safari works fine. For all other users whenever I start Safari it goes to livepage.apple.com and gives me the error message. I also get a form to report bugs to Apple when the error appears. I guess they don't consider it a bug.

Does anyone know where Safari writes error messages to ?

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have not tried to reinstall Safari yet. I did download Safari 4 and still had the same problem. It seems to be permissions related. So I changed the permissions on the Safari directory so everyone that runs Safari runs as root. Not sure if this is the best approach but now all users can run Safari. I might also try and reinstall Safari .

Thanks again.

Bruce
