My yahoo account doesn't work any more !!! error imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com

We've tried the same routines and no luck. We weren't aware that everyone was suffering from the same problems - took it to Carphone warehouse earlier today where they suggested change password on computer and then delete / set up new account on iphone. Needless to say , no joy. Seemed strange this this has occurred just a day after having problems with connecting via the Edge (which has now resolved itself). Looking forward to a solution on this!

Happened to me, too. The same problem but we don't need to be stressed, this is something that will be fixed soon. Probably it's the Yahoo server . .

I have the same issue with my bt.yahoo account it has been working intermittently for most of the day but has now stopped completly even after deleting and then reentering account details .I guess its a sit tight and wait and see scenario .

The problem affects Yahoo Spain too, since this morning at 10 am (7th jun 2009).

I don't know if this will solve everyones problems, but it worked for me.

I found that if I log into my Yahoo account, go into Options, Mail Options. Click on POP & Forwarding, then Setup & Edit POP & Forwarding. Ensure that the Web & POP Access option is ticked ~ for some strange reason mine wasn't!

I enabled this, then setup the Yahoo mail account with my iPhone and it worked.

Might be worth giving it a try if you've not done already.

All back up and running now so Yahoo have obviously got fed up with us all emailing them!

cool. thx a lot SittingPretty... I did that on my webmail at yahoo. I have changed my password and now Iphone yahoo mail is working again;-) coolio... thx a lot ... try it like SittingPretty told us :-))))

Am so glad I have checked this forum, I thought it was only me and had totally given up hope and was looking at getting another email account with a different provider, this was my last hope!! Glad that its all been sorted and that its posted on here!!

Problem fixed. How? Don't ask me. Yahoo must have done something. When I tried to access my mail this morning (9am uk time) it all just worked as usual. No sign of the problem.

Hi guys I have good news,

Apparently i fixed my yahoo mail issue in my iphone. All I did was change my password because it contained symbols ex. &, so i created a new with just letters and numbers. then i went to my iphone i enter my new information: my yahoo account and my new password and it worked. as simple as that. All you got to do is sign in to your yahoo account in the server (open a browser on you computer and sign in your yahoo account) and then change the password, log out. and go to you iphone and input the new info. it should work that way. It worked for me beautifully!!!! Im so happyyyyyyyy
